Four Peaks Racing Car Chronology

Feb 2004: The start of four peaks racing with the purchase of “FPR1”.  This was a 1986 Mazda RX7, essentially stock engine, prepared by Keith Morrisson.  Raced this car in P3 class of the WCRC.

April 2004: Had to replace out first “lateral link”, an element of the rear suspension that was damaged when clipping the bridge at the end of the last stage of our first ever rally

June 2004: Had improvements to make car legal for WCMA road racing.  Added dash-bar to the cage, window net, master kill switch

June 2004: Serious front end damage at Mountain Trials ‘04.  Bumper, Hood and Front Quarter Panels were replaced with silver from PC1

Nov 2004: Moderate front end damage at Kananasikis ’04. Bumper replaced with white

Feb 2005: Installed Racing Beat Header.  Now run as a Group 2 WCRC car.

Winter-Summer 2005: Air Intake, RB anti-roll bars, stainless break lines, electric fan, aluminum Rad

August 2005: Installed a rebuilt race engine from RX7 Specialties.  Ported 13B with upgraded apex seals, oil regulator, HP LW rotors, lightweight flywheel, and RB clutch.  (We call this engine “Adam1”)

Winter 2005:  Added Hot Bits suspension, front and rear, new Sparco Evo2 Seats

Oct 2006: Rolled FPR1 off an embankment during PFR.  Sustained heavy body damage and wrote-off chassis, but engine and drive drain were salvageable.

Dec 2006: Bought “FPR2”, a recently rally prepared 1988 RX7 with a stock engine and Hot Bits suspension.

April 2007: Had the cage in FPR2 modified to be WCMA road-race legal.

July 2007: After a road-race accident, had to replace most of the body panels and paint FPR2 red.

 2008-2009 will be update shortly
